Beloved teacher and pastor Henri Nouwen said, "The spiritual life does not remove us from the world but leads us deeper into it."
  • Today's contemplation prompt: Take a few moments to recall the shape of your day: Who did you encounter (including non-human creatures and nature)? What happened? Take your time to let the day wash over you. When you are ready, I invite you to sit with the following question: Where did I encounter sacredness in my life today?

Catherine is an educator, interfaith spiritual director, and retreat facilitator who delights in the ordinariness of her life in Ottawa, Canada. In her work, she draws on the riches of the mystical traditions, especially those of her ancestors, the Christian Celts. Catherine thinks the greatest prayer she can offer to God and the world is to look and listen for the Divine Spark in each and all, and in every moment.

    About the sacred now

In writing the sacred now, my hope is that together, we'll enter together into the sacredness of our everyday lives - wherever and whatever they may be.
